Will Smith's just a genie a bottle waiting for someone to set him free. No, seriously, he's playing Genie in Disney's upcoming live-action Aladdin movie and, in his words, he's ready to be let out!

On Wednesday (October 10), the 50-year-old actor released the first poster for his highly anticipated movie — in which he's playing the iconic Genie character originally voiced by the late Robin Williams in the 1992 animated film. "LEMME OUT!! 🧞 Can’t wait for y’all to see Me BLUE! :-) #aladdin," he captioned the very purple film poster, which featured his magic lamp and the words, "choose wisely." The film's release date of May 2019 is also listed.

Back in September 2017, just ahead of the 25th Anniversary of the Disney classic, Will introduced the world to the rest of the film's cast on social media. "We just started shooting Aladdin and I wanted to intro you guys to our new family," he wrote on Facebook. "Mena Massoud/Aladdin, Naomi Scott/Princess Jasmine, Marwan Kenzari/Jafar, and I’m over here gettin my Genie on. Here we go!"

The movie musical, which is directed by Guy Ritchie, will also include new characters like Prince Anders, a potential husband for Princess Jasmine, which will be played by Billy Magnussen and Princess Jasmine's handmaiden, which will be played by Nasim Pedrad.

The live-action film is set to hit theatres on May 24, 2019.
