Kobe Bryant Dies in Calabasas Helicopter Crash

Bryant, 41, was one of five people killed when a helicopter crashed into a hillside above Calabasas, Calif. The Los Angeles Times reported that the crash ignited a brush fire, impeding the ability of firefighters and emergency personnel to reach the aircraft.

He retired in 2016 as the NBA’s third all-time leading scorer with 33,643 points, a mark that current Lakers star LeBron James eclipsed Saturday night in Bryant’s hometown of Philadelphia.
